Saw the first hummingbird of the season TODAY!

Saw the first hummingbird of the season TODAY!

Here's another poem by our favorite poet, Gene Fuller:
"Well it's about that time of year for the little hummers to appear
They should be here now any day they will come to visit but not to stay
That they will come i have no doubt i have already put the feeders out
I'll keep my eyes peeled to the sky for a feathered bullet to go whizzing by
They will build a little nest i cannot see away up high in some ole tree
At first i'll see but one or two but when they leave there will be quite a few
All day long with all their might the maneuvers they do is out of sight
They sing no song but it doesn't matter they make it up with constant chatter
The little boogers they do beguile and all day long they bring a smile
At summer's end i do not know what tell's them when or where to go
It will leave a void but it's not a bummer they have left me know they
THEY WILL BE BACK NEXT SUMMER !!"

An ICE EVENT
An ICE EVENT
January 1, 2022
Another year has come and gone
And this old dude keeps hanging on
So I'll sit down and take the time
To start the new year with a rhyme
I will write about a friend of mine
He is not into cheese or wine
Like a log he is long and round
And his tummy almost drags the ground
He cannot see out of either eye
But he is an active little guy
There is one thing he does so well
The little fellow can really smell
With all the restrictions that blindness imposes
He finds the time to smell the roses
His hearing is acute as well as his smell
And many a mole has been sent to hell
I have found comfort in our relation
Fritz, my man, you're a real inspiration
I will close with a message loud and clear
Everyone there have a HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
